Weary feet and the Royal Cornwall Show

We sponsored our local Post Office staff on a charity walk on Bodmin Moor. They walked for 6 hours and raised over £1000 – so well done to them! We also gave them some Peppermint Foot Cream for their weary feet! Its a cream for the summer with its fresh, cooling peppermint, calming lavender and with the antiseptic properties for tea tree.

We are now building up to one of our biggest shows of the year – the Royal Cornwall Show. Lots of creams to make and a stall to sort out. Its a lovely family show and hopefully we shall have a bit of sunshine. So back to the workshop…

Birthdays, bank holidays and bees!

So having survived 2 childrens birthdays and parties, numerious bank holidays its back to some sort of normaility! Lots of creams to make for Eden and the Lost Gardens of Heligan! The bees are out and about and enjoying the warm weather – we planted lots of lavender last year and they seem to be very happy about this! Fingers crossed for beekeepers for their honey crops this year. We have been told by Country Homes and Interiors that they will be mentioning our Cocoa and Shea Body Balm in their July issue – a nice surprise! Also one of Sonya’s favourites as she invented the balm from scratch. It took ages to get the right balance of ingredients and source fair trade ingredients. Best get back to the labeling!

Time passing…

Time just seems to be flashing past at the moment – lots of cream to make and orders to get out. This always seems to happen when the sun shines and you want to be outside! Still we had to be outside to plant some arnica and pot marigolds. The marigolds are a family favourite with their beautiful flowers and the healing calendula we make from them. Fingers crossed for no late frosts! B Skincare has been working to expand and we our about to make an exclusive range for Eden! We have also started to sell in some National Trust shops outside Cornwall – a list of which to follow next blog! Best finish now as my daughters birthday is tomorrow and present wrapping to do!

We are back…

We have got back from London and found Estha has been really busy sending out orders. The press day was great and we had lots of good positive comments. Coast, Country Living, Homes & Gardens, Prima amongst others attended. Thank you Lucy from Minky Publicity for all your hard work! It will be interesting to see if this is followed up with articles – photos of creams and not me please!

The welcome sunshine has made us start thinking about planting marigolds to steep for calendula – wonderful for its healing properties. Hope you have a good weekend!

Cornish Press Day

This is the first B Skincare blog, so welcome! We are busy getting ready to go up to London for the “Cornish Press Day”. This is described on the invite as a “showcase of inspiring creative lifestyle brands from Cornwall”. This maybe but at the moment it is a combination of perspiring getting the van packed and multiplying as our son tries to get his homework finished! The press day will hopefully create press interest in our creams and raise our profile. We will be alongside other Cornish businesses such as The Eden Project, Scilly Flowers, Rick Stein and Seasalt. We will tell you how it goes! Also need to finish our new front page on the website to move into spring and have some more offers as we all start going outdoors more!
